Online Album
1. How do I access my album website?
You and your friends can access your album website at any time via your chosen (or assigned) Internet address (for example, http://my-name.magix.net), which you have to enter via into the address bar of your web browser.
2. I can't access my album website!
Please make sure you've entered the correct Internet address.
Your system may be infected with a worm which might have changed your browser settings so that no Internet connection can be established. Worms can send themselves automatically to addresses in your address book. Should friends listed in your address book experience the same problem, your system could be infected. Make sure to always have an updated virus scanner installed.
3. How do I invite guests to my album website?
To do so, click on "Invite Friends" in you Online Media Manager. If you already have contacts in your contact list, pick among these or simply add new contacts. Now click on "Send". Your contacts will then receive an email.
4. How do I upload photos, videos & music into my album?
In your Online Media Manager click on "Upload" and select your photos, videos or music from your hard drive. Also, select whether these files should be uploaded to an existing or a new album.
5. How do I change the design of my album website?
To do so, click on the "Settings" button in your Online Media Manager and then on "Album Design". Now you can pick from a large selection of design templates sorted into categories. In addition, you can also change the start image of your album website, enter the greeting text, as well as set the start view of your photo albums (image overview or slideshow).
6. How can I make certain albums accessible only to certain people?
Select the desired album in the Online Media Manager and click on the authorization management in the context menu (cog wheel symbol on the album). There, select contacts from your contact list, which should have access to this album. You have to provide each contact with an individual password. You now can automatically inform these contacts (as long as they have an email address) per email about their access information.
7. My music won't play!
Make sure that the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player (www.macromedia.com) is installed on your system. Check to see if the volume is loud enough and that the loudspeakers or headphones are connected properly.
8. My videos won't play
Your MAGIX Online Album transforms all videos into FLV (flash video) after upload. Make sure that the latest version of the Adobe Flash player (www.adobe.com) is installed.
9. Why are my photos displayed in the wrong colors?
Please make sure that your photos are saved in RGB mode. Unfortunately, pictures in CMYK mode cannot be displayed correctly.
10. Why are my photos compressed?
When you upload your photos to your album using MAGIX software you can specify the quality of your image before uploading. If you wish to have your pictures in original quality in your album, you have to select this option before uploading. If you upload your photos via the Online Media Manager, the original picture will be loaded.
11. Can I view my photos in their original quality on my album website?
Of course! Simply click on the fullscreen button.
12. The deleted photos will be shown the next time the album is opened!

13. When I open the page all I see is an empty screen!
Install the latest version of Flash Player.
14. My start picture won't change!
Delete your web browser's cache. In your browser's Internet options (Internet Explorer) in the "General" tab and then "Settings", set the "Search for new version of the saved page" to "Automatic".
15. How can I change my user information (email address ...) ?
Click on "Settings" in "My Online World" area of the Control Center. Here you can change all your data.
16. How can I cancel my subscription (CLASSIC / PREMIUM)?
You have to state your cancellation in writing to MAGIX AG, Customer Care, Borsigstr. 24, 32312 Lübbecke, Germany. The notice may be sent as a fax (+49 5741/310768) or a letter. Please note that the cancellation term is 8 weeks before term expiration. You can find more information in our General Terms and Conditions.
Website Maker
1. How do I activate my Website Maker easy plus account (for Website Maker box buyers)?
Start Website Maker from your desktop. Enter the activation code on the Website Makers button on the website that opens. The activation code for your Website Maker can be found on the included flyer.
2. How do I access my website?
You and your friends can access your website via the automatically set up website sub-domain (for example, http://your-name.magix.net/website), which must be entered into the address bar of your browser. If you have registered a website as a Website Maker deluxe or Website Maker easy customer (for example, www.your-name.com), your website will be accessible via this address.
You can also log in on www.magix-online.com, enter your Control Center, switch to Website Maker in "Website projects" and open the desired project (it must be already published)
3. I can't access my website. Why not?
One of the most common reasons for this is an error typing the Internet address. Please be careful when doing so. Maintenance work may also be a reason for short-term inavailability. If this is the case, an information page is usually displayed.
If your site is still not available, please contact our support team at http://support.magix.net.
4. How can I register my desired domain?
A domain can be registered only with the Website Maker easy or deluxe subscription. A www.yourname.com domain with 5 email addressed is included in the website deluxe package. You can register these in your Control Center area of the Website Maker and here in domain service. No domain is included in the Website Maker easy subscription. It can be purchased in addition. This can be made exactly as described above.
5. When will my domain be available?
As soon as you have picked your domain and completed your registration, we will send your domain application to the responsible NIC (Network Information Center). New applications can take up to 3 days to process. But as a rule, registration will be completed within 1-4 hours. Your domain status can be checked at any time in your Control Center in the Domain Service area at www.magix-online.com.
Note: Even with successful registrations it can take up to 24 hours until your domain is accessible on the Internet.
6. I already have a domain with another provider. Can I change to MAGIX?
Yes, if you already have a domain with another provider, you can easily switch domains to MAGIX using the domain switch form (KK form and provider switch form). After successfully switching domains your MAGIX website can be opened via your old domain.
7. What is a subdomain and what is it for my website?
By activating Website Maker in your Control Center of the Online Welt (independent of the package selected) you will automatically receive a subdomain (web address) for your website. As a rule, it will be http://your-name.magix.net/website. If you already have an Online Album, this subdomain with the addition /website will be taken. Your website can already be viewed on the Internet, even before domain registration has taken place.
8. Can I change the address of my subdomain?
Log in at http://www.magix-online.com, go to the "My Online World" area and click on the "Settings" tab. Following the "Change subdomain" link, you can change it.
9. Can I use my website without a desired domain name as well?
Of course you can. Upon registering with the MAGIX Website Maker you will also automatically receive a sub-domain for your website (for example, http://your-name.magix.net/website).
10. How do I set up an email inbox?
As soon as you register a domain and email packet (a domain and 5 email accounts are contained in Website Maker deluxe) via the MAGIX Website Maker, an email account is automatically set up. At the start, it is called webmaster@desireddomain.com. You can rename this email account at any time. If you have registered more than one account, you can manage them in your Website Control Center (create, delete, etc.).
11. How do I start MAGIX web mail?
MAGIX web mail works with most of the well-known email services (GMX, Web.de, Googlemail etc.). Start web mail in your Control Center in the Website Maker area under email. Simply click here on the corresponding inbox which you would like to check with web mail.
Warning: MAGIX Webmail is only available after you have successfully registered your domain.
12. Why won't my Webmail open?
Seeing as MAGIX Webmail opens as a pop-up, it may be the case that your browser's pop-up blocker is activated. If so, please deactivate it. Find out more on this here.
13. Can I open my MAGIX emails using a different email program.
Yes. You can open the email accounts you registered in the MAGIX Website Maker via other email programs (such as Outlook Express, etc.). The mail server address for POP3, IMAP and SMTP is: mail.magix-website.com.
The login details for SMTP are made up of your MAGIX email address (webmaster@desireddomain.com) and the password you used upon registering for the service.
14. How can I change my user info (email address, password, bank info ...)?
You can change your user data in your Control Center on www.magix-online.com. Simply log in, and click on "Settings" in "My Online World" area. Here you can change all your data.
15.How can I cancel my subscription (Website Maker deluxe & easy) ?

16. I have purchased MAGIX Website Maker easy plus. What will happen 12 months from now?
If you have purchased MAGIX Website Maker from the shelf, you will receive an email from MAGIX before the 12 months are up.
You can then choose one of three options:
1. You continue to use MAGIX Website Maker as normal via subscription for $1.99/month. This will once again be valid for 12 months. Permanent updates and feature advancements are included.
2. You keep your website and switch to FREE mode. The features and web design templates are then adapted to the functionality of the Website Maker FREE version.
3. You can discontinue using MAGIX Website Maker completely. We will delete all your website projects and the relevant media, like photos, videos, music, etc.
Web hosting
1. How can I upload my website to my Online World and thus publish it on the web?
All you need to this is FTP software (available on the Internet for free) for transferring data from your website to MAGIX. In most website programs, the FTP function is already integrated. In MAGIX Xtreme Web Designer 5 you will find the function in the "File > Publish website" menu or by selecting the corresponding symbol in the symbol bar. To use FTP, you only need the address of the FTP server and your Online World login. The address of the MAGIX FTP server is ftp.magix-online.com. You login is your email address registered with MAGIX and the selected password. Prerequisite is, of course, that you have previously created a MAGIX Online World account (free).
2. How can I find my website uploaded via FTP on the Internet?
As soon as your website has been successfully uploaded via FTP to MAGIX, it may be viewed at you Online World web address http://yourname.magix.net/public.
3. How may I open the websites uploaded into sub-folders on the Internet?
MAGIX Xtreme Web Designer 5 make it possible to upload websites into sub-folders via FTP. Thus, you may host multiple websites (depending on your available online disk space). These pages may then be opened at your Online Word web address http://yourname.magix.net/public/sub-folder (simply enter the name of the sub-folder after /public/ ).
4. May I use my website with a real domain?
Yes. However, you may not currently use the MAGIX Domain Service (at this time, it is available only for MAGIX Website Maker). In order to use your website with a real domain (such as www.yourname.com) you have to register a domain with one of many domain providers and redirect this to the Online World web address of the corresponding site. Get more information from your domain provider about how this setting may be made. As a rule, all it takes is a few mouse clicks.
5. I just published my website, but I can't see it/it hasn't updated
Normally, your website will be available/updated directly after successful online transfer. It's important that the file name for the start page is always named index.htm or index.html (lowercase letters). Otherwise, the web server will not display/load the page.
6. Some of the photos on my website are not being displayed
This problem occurs mostly when users program there websites themselves in HTML. A common mistake is to write the names of the photos incorrectly in the code; for example, if the original file name is written in lowercase (e.g. image1.jpg), but the HTML code features it with capital letters (e.g. <img src="Image1.jpg"></img>), this does not allow the image to be displayed, since the web is sensitive to capital and lowercase letters.
